- Title
- Habitat quality (2018)
- Abstract
Habitat Quality was assessed to 2018 (habitat_quality_2018) land use using the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs (InVEST) model. Habitat Quality evaluates the capacity of a habitat to supply biodiversity. The results range from 0 (non-suitable habitat) to 1 (maximum suitability). We estimated the impacts on Habitat Quality of various threats, namely motorways, primary roads, secondary roads, tertiary roads, residential, railways, agriculture areas and buildings and other artificial areas or imperviousness soils. We evaluated (i) the vulnerability of each land-use class to the threats; (ii) the impact of each threat; and (iii) the maximum distance of influence of each threat (assigned by 33 experts - scientists and practitioners - from different fields (e.g., Geographers, Biologists, Ecologists and Environmental planners).
